Instead of stocking up with books at expensive airport shops before you go on holiday, why not visit one of leading veterinary charity, PDSA's 181 charity shops located across the UK? You'll be sure to find a great summer read at bargain basement prices, as well as helping to raise vital funds for pets in need of vets.
"While on holiday, there's nothing better than relaxing on the beach in the sunshine with a good book," says PDSA Head of Trading, David Facer. "Whether you're a fan of thrillers, romance, or enjoy light-hearted chick lit, there are plenty of books to suit all tastes at your local PDSA charity shop.
"Our shelves are heaving with great summer reads, waiting to be packed into suitcases and with most books priced under £1 there's no excuse not to stock up. As well as saving money, you'll also be helping to raise vital funds for sick and injured pets."
PDSA is also appealing for unwanted, good quality books to be donated to their shops. So, when you've finished your summer read, why not recycle it by taking it back to your local PDSA charity shop for other people to enjoy?
PDSA is the UK's leading veterinary charity, providing free veterinary treatment to the sick and injured pets of people in need. This year, the charity will provide more than 1.8 million free veterinary treatments, at a cost of £48 million, which is funded by the generosity of the public.
